Online Program Initiative

As a WMU faculty member, you have spent years developing your academic program and the thought of converting that traditional, face-to-face program to an online modality may seem challenging. Online Education is your resource for transitioning your program online.

Our instructional design technicians work collaboratively with faculty supporting the development of effective instructional materials for online courses - from pedagogical and assessment support to audio-visual technology and other aspects of the online modality. The Instructional Service division will also support faculty in the richeness of technology, as provided for any course offered through Online Education.

Faculty

  • Receive $1,000 for attending the e-Teaching endorsement program which teaches best practices and lessons learned.
  • Faculty members teaching e-Learning course (hybrid, fully online and CVIT offered through Online Education) will receive an extra $1,000 e-Teaching stipend per course delivery for up to three (3) sections delivered (please note: the stipend follows the course not the instructor).

Department

  • EUP revenue share model allocates 50% of net revenue to the department.
  • The first three (3) departments to agree to offer their program online will receive $10,000 in department program development funding.
